Beach Road Dental Practice

General Dentistry

It is our practice philosophy to promote dental health at all times. Therefore we recommend regular check-ups with your dentist and also where necessary with our hygienist. These can help keep down the cost of your treatment.

NHS and private treatment are both available at this practice. If you would like to become a private patient please ask for details at reception. Private dental treatment allows us to offer you a full range of treatments such as cosmetic work and tooth whitening.

The NHS provides all the treatment necessary to maintain and secure your oral health. There are some treatments (mainly cosmetic) which are not available under the NHS and you may choose to have these done privately. You may also choose to have some treatments provided privately as an alternative to NHS treatment. We are happy to discuss these options with you.

NHS England are responsible for commissioning NHS dental care in our area. You can contact them by visiting their website at

You can express a preference about which dentist you would like to see. We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the request is met, but this may not always be possible. Missing appointments wastes time and resources which are needed for other patients. Our practice policy is that if, on more than one occasion, patients cancel with less than 24 hrs notice or do not attend an appointment then we will no longer to be able to offer them NHS treatment. We will of course take any special circumstances into account. We may still be able to offer private dental care but will require a non-refundable deposit. We always try to see patients at the appointed time. If you are kept waiting there is normally a good reason. Please be patient. Patients who are violent or abusive to practice personnel, to other patients or anyone else on the practice premises will be refused treatment and reported to the appropriate authorities.

If you are in pain during surgery hours please telephone and every effort will be made to see you as soon as possible. If you are in pain outside of surgery hours  please listen to the answer phone message where details of emergency arrangements will be available.

NHS England are responsible for emergency out of hours cover. Please ring their helpline on 0161 476 9651. Alternatively you can also contact NHS 111

We wish to reassure our patients that all necessary precautions are being taken in this practice to safeguard both the patients and staff against blood borne infections such as Aids and Hepatitis. We follow all the best practice guidelines to safeguard your health and safety

We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and all personal information is treated in the strictest confidence.

From time to time we may ask you to fill in a medical history questionnaire to assist in our diagnoses and treatment. This is confidential.

If you change address, e-mail, mobile or telephone number please let us know. E-mails are only used to send out recalls and reminders as well as the occasional Friends and Family survey which is now an NHS contractual requirement.

We believe that we offer an excellent standard of dental care. We are always happy to hear your comments or complaints as it helps us improve our service. Please write or speak to our practice manager David Simpkins

Due to the nature of the practice building wheelchair access is problematic but can be managed if prior notice is given.
